Expo '90 Site

Expo '90 Site

The site of Expo '90 had a circular structure, consisting of a large pond called "Sea of Life" at the center and three surrounding areas: the grass field area in the south, the mountainous area in the east and north, and the urban area in the west.

The Expo '90 was a special exposition held based on the International Exposition Treaty, and at the same time, it was the first large-scale international horticultural exposition held in Asia. To achieve the aim and purpose of the Expo, various efforts were made to ensure the flowers and greenery were the main features. Concurrently, the expo site was designed to allow flowers, greenery and the urban area exist in harmony and provide an opportunity for all of us to think about what cities should aim to become.
